My Script

This script is what I will be performing on video. The list of characters and how they act is basically how I will be acting. For others who would like to perform these characters are not limited to this script specifically. The whole concept of this video is to be able to change from one character to another.

Rules:
1. Must be a running video with no pause or stops along the way. If messed up you must start again from the beginning.
2. Have to follow how the characters act listed below.
3. Has to be done under 2 minutes. If it goes over 2 minutes you have not completed the challenge.
4. If not into these characters you can make your own 6 characters for this play.
5. Upload to my Tumblr Site here

Quinsky- Very Nice, Friendly, Happy and Giddy. Always smiling. Sometimes stares off into space.

Emu- Loud, Annoying and Whines about everything. Can't stand No.

Smoke- Laid back and addicted to Smoking. Very raspy voice. True hippy.

Keith- Very chill guy. Emo and speaks with a mouse like voice.

Coco- Criticizer and very Stuck-up. Always wants to be Right and a Fighter.

Play:

(Quinsky is sitting on the rug teaching Emu how to draw eyes for her presentation at the academy. Smoke is taking up the two seat couch in the back slouching with a cigarette in his hand. Keith is sitting on the far corner of the three seat couch behind Emu observing the two.)

Quinsky
(pointing at her drawing)
Right here you need to draw it very carefully to make the iris. The eyes can’t be all over the place. Got it?

Emu
(with a look of unsurety)
No..

Quinsky
(bright smile)
Good! Now, take your marker and draw it in close, nice and slow. Remember, they have to be even.

Keith
Technically, your eyes aren’t supposed to be even. And shouldn’t she use a pencil first? You know, just in case she messes up?

Quinsky
No. Your eyes are even. Look, Emu, draw it like this.

Emu
(trying to draw the eyes correctly, biting her lip hard, she loses concentration)
I can’t do it! I haaate drawing! I hate it.

Smoke
(a wild cackle, mimicking)
She can’t do it.

Quinsky
Smoke what are you even doing here?
(with a sigh)
Here look just try again.

Emu
(her eyebrows inward forming an angry pout)
I don’t want to do it.

Smoke
Mida, isn’t this due today?

Emu
(crossing arms over chest)
Shut up!

(Coco comes in half asleep looking at the scene through blurry eyes)

Coco
What the hell is going on in here? It’s 9 o’clock
(sticking her hand out towards Emu and Quin)
and what the fuck is this?

Keith
(rolling his eyes, in a low voice.)
Ugh, look what the cat dragged in.

Coco
(sassy furiousness)
Shut up, Keith.
Keith
(mumbles to self)
Never let’s me talk.

Quinsky

Coco please can you just, just leave so I can teach Emu? You always do this Coco. Always.

Coco
It’s 9- in- the morning! Why are you teaching her to draw at 9- in- the- morning?!

Quinsky
(avoiding her gaze)
We won’t have time to do it later. We only have 3 hours than we have to leave. Have you forgotten that Emu has to present today?

Coco
I don’t give a shit, what Emu has to do today. I don’t want to hear her mouth this early!

Smoke
(laughing to himself, with a sidenote)
It’s probably that time of the month.

Quinsky
Smoke, get out!

(Coco get’s frustrated and leaves. Smoke get’s up and leaves as well smiling to himself following Coco)

Emu
(under her breath, rolling her eyes)
I can do it. I can draw.
(she takes another sheet of paper and begins to draw the eyes)

Quinsky
Yes Emu, but remember they have to be even-

Emu
Shut up! I can do it.

Why Youtube?

HesterEster Youtube Site

Youtube is a site where you can view videos from other people or make and upload your own videos to the site. People can subscribe to your channel which is your base for all of your playlists and videos and also what you have subscribed to. To subscribe basically means you are tuned into all the posts that this channel makes as well as videos. Youtube is a great way to make your self known.

Using youtube is a great way to get yourself out there considering a majority of people watch youtube videos. As an actress, you need to perform and "Act". Making videos to start will definitely grab attention of those who are either looking for aspiring actors like some agents or just people who are looking for specific people with specific talents.

My site on youtube will have some video footage of what I do as an actor. Some raw footage and even the professional ones. Youtube will help me to gather up the things I have done so it can be better represented.

My Tumblr Site

My Tumblr Site

Tumblr is a site where you can implement your own videos or images or even messages or quotes to create your dashboard. You can import links for others to click on or even have a quote or text show up for them to read. All of these things like video, audio, links, photos can be used to portray your project. It's like Twitter. People can follow you and you can follow them getting latest updates or even ideas. Tumblr is a great way to get your project set up and organized.

I chose tumblr because it was the easiest to use for me and all the different things I can put into it like audio, video, and photos as well as quotes or text. There is a variety. It's not just videos but it's also just about everything else. The foundation of Tumblr helps me to start at a considerable pace so that I can organize everything I want me project to be.

The different things that will be on the site are video clips from certain movies or plays that portray my project of Multiple Personalities and how acting out characters in Theatre is like having a Multiple Personality Disorder. Photos will also be incorporated along with quotes and links to specific websites to better understand this disorder.

My future path as an actor.

I feel that my future path as an actor is going to be something in teaching others about it or broadway. I have recently seen "The Heaters" musical play at some Theatre and ever since I have been inspired to perform on broadway. It was just that good! These kind of things as well as movies really inspire and all of that inspiration just pushes me more and more towards my goal.

I am also a part of a program called Urban Arts Partnership. I have to say this program has been so amazing for me I just love it. I always leave out of there with a smile on my face because of all the acting we do and such. And it's not just a place to do Theatre but a place to produce music and write poetry and playwriting! This place is all about the concept of art and creation.

Downtown Arts Academy is a company I was a part of that was very fun to do. We performed "The Looking Glass" play in the space we had and it was incredible. I was so happy to be a part of that company! And the leader of the company Ryan is a great cook. I hope someday I will be able to go back there and work with her again.

Why Johnny Depp inspires me.

Johnny Depp has to be one of my biggest inspirations to become an actor. His movies had lured me in so much that I am now wishing I can perform a movie someday. The way he changes his character! Willa Wonka to Alice in Wonderland and some of his older movies like The Man Who Cried and The Astronaut's Wife. I could name a whole set of movies he did!

I know some things about Johnny Depp. Not entirely but definitely a portion. I know he never originally wanted to be famous. In on of his quotes you can find online he talks about how you should never aim to be famous. Just do what you do. He does not like to be labeled and he does not see himself as a serious actor at all.

These are some quotes from Johnny Depp that really touch me.
-With any part you play, there is a certain amount of yourself in it. There has to be, otherwise it's just not acting. It's lying.
-There is nothing on earth that could ever make me want to relive certain years of my life when I was young.
-You do the work and you want people to see it; but, um while I'm doing the work, the result doesn't matter at all to me. Ultimately, I don't, I don't care whether the film is - you know - some big giant box-office bonanza and I don't care if its a complete flop. To me, when a film gets made and it's actually finished it's a success. They're all a success in their own way.

My ideal acting role.

For some strange reason my acting role was to always play as a guy character. I guess it's because I play video games a lot and often play as a guy character like GTA, or Resident Evil and some others like that. I gotten really familiar with the character and always wanted to be cast for a role like that. I also love playing roles where I am yelling or debating against someone. And of course the silly characters. But, my ideal role I would say would be a guy character. I always wanted to act as one.

Usually at home I act like several different characters. I really do it for fun. I know how to act like most of my family members because I've studied them so much. When it comes to acting and Theatre, I like to observe and study the character I am playing before presenting it. I want to make sure I know my character.

I think with any role you play you must study that character in order to step into it. Imagine being a quiet person then having to be assigned the role of a bitchy character with no respect? Takes time to get into it.

What do I like about acting?

Theatre is performing. Which connects to speaking in crowds or speeches. Even talking in class when the teacher calls on you. Theatre helps you on that department because in Theatre you are constantly performing what you created. The scenes. The characters. The everything. I like acting because is helps me to become stronger.

There are numerous things I like about acting. It's mainly the feeling I get just before I perform something on stage or in front of a camera of some sort. The butterflies come and go each and every time and for some strange reason it feels slightly good. I have been participating in acting activities and such since freshmen year of high school and I have to tell you it helps build confidence. That is why I love doing it. It helps me to speak up to people and also to feel better about myself and what I am capable of doing.

Acting isn't just getting on stage and following a script all day. You have to emotionally and psychically involve yourself in it. Within it. If you can not "feel" your character then it's not true acting. There are many actors on TV who show very little acting skills. Often never changing the expression on their face or just plain slacking. The way they got famous I do not know but acting should most definitely not be something you do to just get famous for. You have to feel it. Don't slack. Get serious. Get real.
